Which is the management of all hazards through all phases of the disaster management cycle (prevention and mitigation, preparedness, response, recovery and rehabilitation).Â
As Tropical Storm Isaac churns towards islands in the northern and western Caribbean, I would like, as the chairman of Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) to appeal to residents in the threatened Member States to take all necessary and serious precautions at this time.
In efforts to enhance the early warning systems in Saint Lucia, the project entitled ‘Strengthen Integrated Early Warning Systems (EWS) in the Caribbean’ was launched in on May 22, 2018 during the Opening Session of the ‘Validation Workshop for Saint Lucia’s Multi-Hazard Early Warning System (MHEWS) Gap Analysis and the Development of the National Roadmap’.
