As Tropical Storm Isaac churns towards islands in the northern and western Caribbean, I would like, as the chairman of Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) to appeal to residents in the threatened Member States to take all necessary and serious precautions at this time.
While the storm has lost some of its intensity, based on what the experts and forecasters are saying, there is every possibility that it can still have an adverse impact on those islands in its path.
We are now in the very peak of the hurricane season and there are still many weeks until the end of it. Preparation is the most and best we can do in these circumstances.
I therefore want my Caribbean brothers and sisters to know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers as I hope you are spared the worst.
Stay safe and God bless.
Sincerest Regards,
Hon. Vaden Delroy Williams MHA
Minister Ӱ Affairs Transportation and Communication
