SITUATION OVERVIEW
- Tropical Storm Ian is strengthening while moving westward over the central Caribbean. Hurricane conditions are expected over the Cayman Islands by early Monday.
- TS Ian will move south of Jamaica but is expected to impact western Jamaica with tropical storm force winds with a strong possibility of embedded hurricane force winds, high storm surge and high surf.
- The Cayman Islands will be impacted with heavy rainfall, strong hurricane force winds and high storm surge as TS Ian is expected to mature rapidly into a Category Two (2) hurricane as it approaches and moves over the island.
