Bridgetown, ÐÓ°ÉÐÔ°É, October 16, 2012 (CDEMA) - The Official Launch of the CDM Conference will be held at the ODPEM Headquarters on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. The Honourable Noel Arscott M.P., Minister of Local Government and Community Development and Chairman of the CDEMA Council of Ministers, Mr. Ronald Jackson, Director General of the ODPEM and Mr. Jeremy Collymore, Executive Director of CDEMA will be among the main speakers at the event. The occasion will feature the unveiling of the CDM 7 logo.

The Caribbean Conference on Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) is celebrating seven (7) years as the signature disaster management event in the region.
This year the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA), in collaboration with the Office for Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPEM) and its partners will host the Conference under the theme “CDM: Building Disaster Resilience - A Shared Responsibility†at the Hilton Rose Hall Resort and Spa, Montego Bay, Jamaica from December 3 - 7, 2012.
The CDM Conference is the region’s largest gathering of professionals in the field of disaster risk management and professionals from sectoral and thematic fields and is structured to promote good practice, and share ongoing research. The structure also charts the way forward for the advancement of CDM in the Caribbean, and provides a unique and exciting opportunity for disaster management stakeholders to network and share perspectives.
