These funds are being disbursed through the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) under the initiative “Latin America and the Caribbean Against Hunger 2025.”
The funds provided are supporting the development of a drought monitoring and management programme; a schools safety programme, tertiary student engagement in disaster reduction through internships, exchanges and research among other areas.
The mission will culminate with a wrap-up session with the Minister of External Relations, Mr. Milton Rondó, to discuss future areas of cooperation on disaster risk management between the Government of Brazil and the CARICOM States.
