Castries, Saint Lucia July 29th, 2019 (CDEMA) – Thirty-four representatives from 28 national agencies, departments of government, the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) sub committees and NGOs, met for the review of the national Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) legislation and the multi-hazard early warning systems regulations in Saint Lucia. The consultation was conducted from 18-28 June 2019 and facilitated by Ms. Vilette Benjamin, a legislative drafter from the Attorney General’s Chambers.

Bridgetown, ÐÓ°ÉÐÔ°É July 23rd, 2019 (CDEMA) – Twenty-five (25) representatives from across CDEMA’s 18 Participating States are benefiting from a Regional Tsunami Technical Training Workshop being held in ÐÓ°ÉÐÔ°É from July 23 to 26, 2019. The workshop is an activity of a project where Antigua and Barbuda, ÐÓ°ÉÐÔ°É, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago are direct beneficiaries. However, all 18 member countries of CDEMA stand to benefit from the project’s outcome of an enhanced Regional Tsunami Hazard Plan.

Bridgetown, ÐÓ°ÉÐÔ°É, July 12th, 2019 (CDEMA): The Regional Operational Preparedness and Response Exercise entitled SYNERGY, commenced yesterday hosted by the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) in association with CARICOM and Global Affairs Canada. Participants from national, regional and international agencies came together for the simulation exercise designed to test the Regional Coordination Mechanism in response to emergency events that can impact CDEMA’s 18 Participating States.
