MESSAGE: Tropical Storm Warning Issued for ÐÓ°ÉÐÔ°É, Grenada and its Dependencies and Trinidad & Tobago. A Severe Weather Warning has been issued for sections of Guyana and Flash Flood Watch in effect for four (4) Parishes in Jamaica
THE SITUATION:
The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) and the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH) have been monitoring an area of interest east south-east of the southern Windward Islands over the past 72 hours.
Bridgetown, ÐÓ°ÉÐÔ°É May 30, 2017 – 31 participants from the disciplined forces, including police, military and fire services are taking part in the annual CARICOM Disaster Relief Unit (CDRU) training, which is being held at the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) Coordinating Unit and the Headquarters of the Regional Security System (RSS) in ÐÓ°ÉÐÔ°É from May 29 – June 2, 2017.
The CDRU is a specialised humanitarian response team equipped to provide assistance to any of the eighteen CDEMA Participating States, affected by natural or technological hazard.
